Egil Mollestad

Think

Egil Mollestad holds the position as CTO at Think. He has a MSc in civil engineering and a PhD in structural mechanics from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. He started his professional career as a structural engineer in Norwegian Contractors (NC), a company specialised in making gravity based offshore concrete platforms for the oil industry.

In the period from 1983 to 1989 he held positions as engineering manager and production manager. From 1990 – 1991 Egil Mollestad was working in the McKinsey&Co as a management consultant. In 1992 he rejoined his former company, now renamed to Aker Norwegian Contractors, as technical director. As the technical director he was responsible for a team of 650 engineers.

Egil Mollestad joined Think for the first time in January 1997 as technical director. He was program manager for the first version of TH!NK city and also program manager in the Ford period for the current version of TH!NK city. He left Think to become CEO of an Oslo based consultancy company specialised in energy , environmental and safety issues when Ford sold Think in 2003. He rejoined the company in March 2007 as CTO.

Egil Mollestad has a very good overview of the EV business. He has extensive knowledge about EV architecture and EV technologies. As CTO his main tasks are to follow closely the development of the EV technology in general and in particular the development of batteries and electric drive trains.
